The Craighton Estate Tour: Exclusive Pleasure for Coffee Enthusiasts
Visit Craighton Estate Great House and make the Plantation Tour. Relive the grand history of Jamaica ’s heritage and culture. Walking through the property, you get glimpses of the different ages in history, reflected in the varied collection of antique furniture and heritage art on display at Craighton, some dating as far back as the 1700’s.
For luck, be sure to ring the bell that still hangs at the Craighton gate, brought to the property by the original owners over 200 years ago.
On a 1-hour tour, our Guide will take you through the Estate, where you can view the cultivation and learn about the factors that give this coffee its unique and definitive flavour. Up the mountain, you make the gentle climb on flagstones for about half a mile, to a gazebo perched atop the estate in the midst of the coffee field. Behold your first breathtaking view of this Jamaican coffee farm, its coffee masters at work, the Blue Mountains, charming rural mountain villages and across to the sprawling plains of Kingston.
Visitors are able to enjoy that rare pleasure of having the freshest cup of Blue Mountain Coffee, straight from the source and brewed to perfection. Then take home the original pure Blue Mountain Coffee, to share with your love ones.
Heritage Hunters
The 200-years-old Craighton Estate Great House has remained one of Jamaica ’s best preserved Georgian style houses. The estate was always privately owned, and used exclusively as a prestigious summer home for Jamaica ’s Governors, Clergymen and Dignitaries, who sought respite from the Kingston summer heat.
